ADT Teach program in South Africa

ADT Teach, an innovative computer education program for high school learners in South Africa, is the subject of the current feature video on www.tyco.com.

ADT South Africa, in partnership with Tyco International and the South African Education and Environment Project, launched ADT Teach in 2009.

Through the program, high school learners from six under-resourced schools in the Cape Town and Johannesburg areas gain critical computer skills, helping them prepare for more advanced training and education, and entry into the workforce.

Trainers visit the schools in ADT Teach mobile computer labs, which are equipped with laptops, a generator and routers. The ADT Teach curriculum covers the learning objectives of a national IT certificate program. ADT Teach is currently capable of adding 360 learners annually. Since its launch, the program has benefited more than 600 learners.

The ADT Teach program is one of several youth achievement partnerships supported by Tyco International. Through these partnerships, Tyco is providing youth with opportunities to reach their full potential.
