Operation Bobbi Bear has thanked the staff from Fidelity ADT for their support in celebration of Mandela Day.
Operation Bobbi Bear is a human rights organisation committed to helping sexually abused children in KwaZulu-Natal and throughout South Africa. They have been in operation for several years and have rescued, sheltered and assisted many children in desperate need of help. In addition to providing safe homes for abused children they also work with the criminal justice system to prosecute perpetrators and educate individuals and communities around any form of child abuse.
“We were made aware of Operation Bobbi Bear and the wonderful work that they do through one of our staff members who had previously helped the organisation. The work that they do is nothing short of heroic and it was a huge honour and privilege for us to support them by making a contribution from our staff and through the Fidelity Foundation,” says Fidelity ADT’s district manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Vaughan Pillay.
Fidelity ADT donated boxes filled with food, toiletries and other basic necessities needed by the organisation. A team of Fidelity ADT staff members brought a jumping castle, popcorn machine and lunch for the children and staff to enjoy.
“We truly appreciate the generosity shown by the Fidelity ADT and Fidelity Services Group team members. These donations are what keep us going as we require the support from our communities to meet the basic needs of the children that we look after. It is critical that all South Africans work together towards rectifying the injustice shown towards many of the children in our country. We believe that by partnering with companies such as the Fidelity Service Group we can make a difference and help those in need,” says Eureka Olivier, Operation Bobbi Bear Financial Administrative Director.
Arrangements were also made for Mr Fidelity ADT to entertain the children with his magic show while some of the staff members treated the children to face painting.
“Our team spent the whole afternoon with the children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time with Operation Bobbi Bear and even Mr Fidelity ADT said that it was one of the most special places he had ever done his magic show. Our staff loved serving and sharing with both the children and staff,” concluded Pillay.
