The Jona Vaughan Home in Amanzimtoti are thrilled with a recent donation from a private security company. Fidelity ADT received a wish list from Jona Vaughan and ran a collection amongst staff for basic necessities such as toiletries and food to assist.
“Jona Vaughan Home is a residential facility that caters for residents that are mentally and physically challenged and we depend on donations and funding to run our operation,” explains Senior Supervisor, Gretta Hlongwa.
The home is managed in an excellent manner and serves as a safe environment for those in need. “We are a non-profit organisation and we look after people from the age of 5 to 70. We provide them with meals and we also have a psychiatrist and social worker who come in once a month to work with our patients. We run daily support groups and we also provide indoor and outside games,” added Gretta.
The Fidelity ADT team delivered a few boxes filled with their collection of goods which forms part of their Fidelity Foundation initiative to Gretta and her team. “It has been an honour to make a small, collective contribution towards the Jona Vaughan home and their team at the start of the year,” says Fidelity ADT’s District Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Vaughan Pillay.
“We would like to thank the Fidelity Foundation and in particular the Fidelity ADT team in Durban. We truly appreciate their donation and know that these goods will help us support our patients,” concluded Hlongwa.
