The Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre (ECYCC) has extended their thanks to a local security company for supporting their annual charity golf day.
ECYCC is a residential place of safety for 65 children between the ages of 18 months and 18 years old, who are placed there by the Children’s Court. These children have been removed from their parents due to abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. The ECYCC has been a safe haven for children for the past 111 years.
Fidelity ADT entered a four ball and also sponsored a hole to show their support towards this worthy annual initiative held recently at Beachwood. Over one hundred players enjoyed a good day on the course despite wet weather. Local celebrities who also showed their support included Ian McIntosh, Greg Miller, Hentie Martens, Butch James and Darryn Gallagher.
Fidelity ADT, District Manager for KZN, Ivan Govender said they are proud to have been a part of the fundraiser’s success. “We believe in the importance of getting involved in charity events such as the Ethelbert Golf Day as this provides us with an opportunity to show our support and commitment towards our community. We are very involved with the Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre and have enjoyed partnering with them on numerous initiatives over the past few years including toy donations, planting trees and sponsorships. We are grateful to have taken part in their golf day and are pleased to see the wonderful support shown by everyone involved.”
The money raised from the golf day will be put towards monthly groceries as well as maintenance of the buildings.
“We would like to thank all the companies who entered teams and sponsored prizes. A special thank you to our tee sponsors, Bay Union, Chep SA, Fidelity ADT, SA Homeloans and Triton Express for their generous, continued support of our organisation,” said Ethelbert Director, Vanessa Theophilus.
