A resident from Floral Park has thanked a local armed response officer, for recently going the extra mile.
“Mr Smith contacted us and asked if we were able to get one of our officers to meet him at his house, as he was returning home late at night. Because it was so dark outside already, he was hoping our officer could provide some extra sense of security so that they could safely enter their house,” explains Ryan Britz, Port Elizabeth branch manager at Fidelity ADT.
Armed response officer Ashton le Roux was able to make his way to their home, and waited for them until they arrived.
“I would like to thank the Fidelity ADT staff at the Port Elizabeth branch, after responding shortly after I asked for assistance. I phoned to ask whether one of the officers could please wait for me at my home while we came back from a function. After arriving we met up with the officer who was waiting at our home for about 15 minutes prior to our arrival. A big thank you to Armed Response Officer Ashton Le Roux for going the extra mile,” wrote Mr Smith in an email to the company a few days later.
Britz says the company was only too happy to assist.
“This service is subject to availability and basically means that one of our armed response officers will wait for you when you arrive home to ensure that you get home safely. Any customer can make use of this service if they feel vulnerable after returning home from work or an event, while it can also be used during power outages to avoid returning home alone while dark,” says Britz.
