A resident from Adcockvale has expressed her appreciation after local armed response officers came to her aid, when suspects allegedly targeted her property.
“One of our monitoring team members at the Community Information Centre (CIC) received a notification on WhatsApp on Sunday afternoon, asking for help after suspects allegedly tried to remove her alarm system’s motion sensor light,” explains Ryan Britz, Port Elizabeth branch manager for Fidelity ADT.
The CIC was set up by Fidelity ADT at their PE offices three years ago, and has become an essential tool which members of the community can use to report all crime or municipal related issues. Operators monitor local CCTV camera networks as well as community social media platforms, such as in this example.
“Our operator was able to quickly dispatch the closest armed response officers, who arrived in time to scare off the would-be robbers. Members of the Mount Road SAPS also soon arrived, and they opened a case of malicious damage to property,” says Britz.
The residents expressed her sincere thanks to everyone who responded quickly, which helped prevent any loss or further damage of her property.
The CIC also assists with municipal related issues such as broken street lights, potholes, water leaks etc. Residents are encouraged to make use of their services by calling 086 12 12 210 or 073 766 7447.
