Members of the Fidelity ADT Community Control Room (CCR) including the Hatton Estate Neighbourhood Watch (NHW), Ashley residents NHW, Pineridge NHW, Glen Park NHW, Moseley NHW, Marianhill Park Watch and ProAct joined forces and hosted a family fun day at Gelofte Skool on Saturday, 1 July.
The event was held to raise funds for the neighbourhood watches. It also brought together various industry stakeholders together to unite in a show of force against crime, and to give an opportunity for the community to engage with the companies and neighbourhood watches.
The SAPS, Metro Fire, South African National Blood Service (SANBS) and other role players from the security industry showed up to lend support to the worthy cause. Participants provided entertainment in the form of practical demonstrations, showing how these agencies deal with emergency situations in their day-to-day operations.
Fidelity ADT handed out treats and balloons to the children while also sponsoring guarding for the event. The security company also took time to engage and communicate with the community, answering crime-related questions and addressing concerns.
To top things off, live entertainment, children’s rides and stalls were included, provided fun and entertainment for the over two thousand attendees.
Rian Buys, Fidelity ADT District Community Development Manager for KZN said they are happy to have been a part of this initiative.
“Fidelity ADT is committed to forming partnerships with local crime fighting organisations to proactively reduce criminal activity. Having and maintaining good working relationships between various community safety organisations, like CPF’s is very important as they can yield positive results in the fight against crime.”
