A joint enforcement operation in Klapmuts this week led to the arrest of a suspect on a drugs related charge.
“Our officers received a call on Wednesday night (July 8th) from Klapmuts SAPS, asking for assistance in the execution of a warrant to search a property in Klapmuts informal settlement,” says Verena Hulme, Cape Town North district manager at Fidelity ADT.
Two armed response officers as well as a member of the Fidelity ADT special response unit attended a briefing at Klapmuts SAPS before joining police officers as they went to execute the search warrant.
“The team of police officers and our armed response officers arrived at the house in the Klapmuts informal settlement area and found 12 Mandrax pills, 6 bags of tik and 43 stoppe of dagga hidden inside the house. A 37 year old man was arrested and charged with the possession of drugs,” says Hulme.
“We are happy that we could offer assistance to our partners in the SAPS in this incident. It is this type of team work between all law enforcement and security companies in Cape Town that will keep all residents safe.”
