Two suspects have been arrested by police in Port Elizabeth, after they allegedly robbed a business premises in Brickmakers Kloof Road.
“We recently received a panic alarm signal from one of our customers next door to the business in question. The customer had noticed two suspects allegedly busy robbing the business in question,” explains Ryan Britz, branch manager for Fidelity ADT in Port Elizabeth.
An armed response officer was immediately deployed.
“Officer Marco Heugh arrived at the address, where he received more information from our customers who pressed the panic alarm button. This included a description of the alleged suspects as well as the fact that they appeared to have taken several items and were armed with knives. Heugh passed this information on to our monitoring centre, before patrolling the area on the lookout for the suspects,” says Britz.
It wasn’t long before two suspects were spotted fleeing in the direction of Valley Road. They were apprehended by the Fidelity ADT armed response officer, and handed over into the custody of Humewood SAPS.
“We must thank the customer who raised the alarm when they saw what was happening. Together with our officer’s quick response, this ensured that the suspects did not get away and were apprehended. This is the type of team work which I am sure will keep our beautiful city safe, and free from crime. Well done everyone,” says Britz.
