Visibility of the Umzimbeet Valley Residents’ Association (UVRA) in Westville has been given a welcome boost following a donation of signage from a private security company. Fidelity ADT sponsored new signage that has been erected across Westville ahead of the festive season.
“These signboards have been added to all the various guard huts within the footprint and not only promote our visibility and presence in the area but also serve as a deterrent to would-be criminals,” says Community Development Manager for Fidelity ADT, Rian Buys.
The new signage has been erected in streets such as Kingsmead Drive, Mkhula Road, Chiselhurst Drive, Edgbaston Drive, Prince Charles Road and Serpentine Drive.
“We are proud to support our local crime fighting associations such as the UVRA and have seen very positive results due to the collective team effort. Our security huts are strategically placed across the footprint and are manned by our well trained street patrol officers who are backed up by our Fidelity ADT armed response team,” Buys added.
In addition to the signage, Fidelity ADT also sponsored five thousand fridge magnets with emergency contact numbers to the Westville community.
“We truly appreciate the strong and effective partnership with the UVRA committee and believe that these fridge magnets will serve as a constant reminder to residents to be vigilant at all times. This is especially relevant as we move into the festive season. Residents are encouraged to immediately report any suspicious activity to the Fidelity ADT monitoring centre or local authorities,” Buys concluded.
